Ship Programming

Lead Product Designer

Booking activities on a cruise ship currently involves multiple Excel sheets, causing version confusion and unclear approvals for last-minute changes. This project aims to create a centralized system for booking, changing, and moving events and venues, with centralized approval management.

Background

I was asked to take on this project after the previous designer went on maternity leave. At tat time, about 30% of the discovery phase was completed, and a few initial versions of the design had been created and the project was 2 months behind schedule.

My product owner publicly wrote this to my entire department. A huuuuge kudos and thank you to, who did something unbelievable and something I haven't seen before. She was literally "thrown" into a project that didn't even have 30% of the discovery completed and had a few first versions of the design created. In just TWO short months she was able to bring it to the finish line! She played a pivotal role in discovery, user testing, decision making and production of the DEV READY design and HIGH FIDELITY, ACTIONABLE prototype of the platform that consists of over 100 features. All designed, all dev ready, plus a prototype that is ready to be presented and user tested!
